BioAbout the Author:
Gen X is by no means a professional. She discovered fan fiction in '97 and has been playing with it off and on when whimsy strikes her. Once an English major, she now works full time. Her stories tend to have only three settings: WAFF, Angst, and Humor. Her attention span is fleeting and she can not finish a multipart story to save her life (but does try.) Her favorite word is: catharsis.

Works posted to this journal are considered finished. However, they may be edited and improved on a whim or without notice. All stories are archived in the Memories Section by fandom or you may opt to use the tags for additional browsing options. Works in progress and incomplete works will not be posted.
On Archiving:
Gen X runs an out-of-date-website [link], and has works on a few specific pairing [link & link] or fandom pages [link], and a badly neglected fanfiction.net page [link] and bits of wips archived in memories [link]. Archive requests are appreciated and welcome.

On Criticism:
Gen X welcomes criticism. Drabbles and works under 2,000 words tend to fall into the realm of things written off the cuff and for fun. However, longer works are more than welcome for people to weigh their two cents in. (Spelling and HTML errors are always welcome to be shouted out. The quicker noticed, the quicker fixed.) Preferably, she'd rather have comments directed to her email: genx88 @ livejournal.com but knows this is not always the case and hopes this shall not stop people from leaving comments.

Gen X has read more stories in more fandoms than she has written for. Currently fandoms she has written for include:

On Feedback:
Gen X is flattered and appreciates each comment deeply. However, most times she never knows what to say in response and usually musters a response that tends to always sound like this: "Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the time you took to let me know." While she can be overly verbose and has a habit of being terribly OT on comment threads, she tries to keep things brief, but not in an effort to be standoffish. If you'd like to discuss common interests or pairing, please feel free to drop her a line on her journal, in her email, or on AIM. (And if you are a Darkminds fan, she will love you for life.)
On Friending:
As of this moment, this is a public journal with no entries locked in any form. Permission is not needed to friend this journal and always makes Gen X rather flattered. The only journals friended back shall be ficlogs simply to maintain easy access to more stories. If you wish me to add your writing journal to the list, kindly let me know.
On Pairings:
Gen X has yet to find a pairing she hates. In any fandom. Some characters and pairings may not be her favorite, but she tries to be receptive to them all. She writes yaoi and yuri, slash and het, real and imagined, general and adult fic with the same interest. Not writing a pairing does not constitue liking it. What Gen X writes or doesn't write may not always reflect her preferences.
On Posting:
Gen X tends to shy away from communities (unless she has longer fic) and has no problems simply writing for her friends and letting them read. She will post to communities, mailing lists, and websites on ocassion. She does not crosspost. Stories here will only be crossposted if written for a challenge from a specific community.
On Ratings and Readers:
This journal is not meant for younger readers. At this moment, it is not locked in any way. Warnings and details can be found at the beginning of each story and Gen X hopes the reader shall utilize their own discretion. Objectional topics may include: actor slash, chan, homosexual themes, femslash, death fics, incest, real-person slash, sexual content, slash, shonen-ai, strong language, suicidal themes (implied and stated), underage slash, yaoi, yuri.
On Tense and Style:
Gen X tends to write in either the present or past tense. As for speaker voice, she often writes in the third person omniscient, second person, first person-limited, first person-direct address. When she gets lazy, she does dialogue only stories. Or on very rare occasions, she tries her hand at poetry!
